There are a lot of factors on why it could happen, but one of the common reason is due to the state of stomach being empty, causing the acid that keeps on producing to eventually eat away the stomach walls. Other factors include emotional troubles, such as stress, anxiety, etc. Eating too fast, consuming oily and fatty food, or even drinking carbonated or drinks with caffeine also contributes to why stomach ulcer can happen.

1. Eat with enough portion during suhoor and when breaking a fast

Donโ€™t eat too much food at one time, as it would make your stomach work too hard. Eat slowly at one time and not in a big portion, so that our stomach will have enough time to process it.

2. Avoid eating spicy and fatty food

As it was explained above, eating those kinds of food would make the acid in our stomach to increase, resulting in stomach ulcer. Furthermore, drinks or foods that have caffeine in it is also one of the contributing factor to the acid rising.

Your stomach needs to readjustment, especially after hours of not eating. Which is why it is important to break your fast by eating small snacks before continuing with the main food.

5. Avoid sleeping right after eating

Usually after suhoor, people are usually sleepy. But as we know, sleeping right after eating can cause oesophageal reflux, which is a condition where the food in our stomach to turn upwards. Which is why it is not recommended to lay down right after eating.

Though if it has already happened, there are some suggestions on how to overcome a stomach ulcer. Wearing baggy clothes can help with lessening the pain. Tight clothing presses on your stomach, which can cause the acid to rise. Getting enough rest is also very needed, with the minimal of sleeping for 7-9 hours per day. It is also possible to get more sleeping time by taking naps for 30 minutes.
